Our founder Zoe Harris was recently invited to present at the Open Thanatology Advance Care Planning conference (for those who don’t know – yes, even we had to look it up! – Thanatology is the study of death and dying).

The line-up of speakers was largely healthcare professionals and academics, discussing researcher- and clinician- led initiatives and approaches, so Zoe was keen to emphasise the potential for encouraging people to do their future planning in the community, with support from the community. We were therefore delighted that a representative of one of our partner organisations, Dawn Butcher from the Henfield Community Partnership, was able to take a 5 minute break from the computer club that was in full swing at the time, to explain the fabulous work they have been doing, to introduce the My Future Care Handbook to their club members and support them to do some future planning.

You can watch Zoe and Dawn’s presentation here , or read a PDF transcript complete with slides, or watch a recording of the whole day here.
